Is ANYONE making a commission? No.

So  why would a Realtor® show it? Because it’s a great home? There are lots of great homes. Because it’s priced well? Statistics show most FSBO’s (For Sale By Owner) are over priced and even if you are competitive, what’s in it for the Realtor® ?

 

Let’s face it the reason you are selling it by yourself is because you don’t want to pay the commission, so don’t expect anyone in the Real Estate community to bring you a buyer.

 

Statistics also show that FSBO’s are the most likely to actually end up getting LESS for their home than if sold by a professional. Mostly because Buyers are also looking for a “Deal” ( isn’t that what you would do if you were the buyer?) and they know dealing directly with the seller is the easiest way to leverage the emotional issues in selling.

 

So what is the only way to leverage the process in YOUR Favor? Have More Buyers Looking and making offers. More competition is what will keep the price UP.

 

How do you get more Buyers looking at YOUR house? Exposure. Advertising. It’s not going to happen with a $3.00 For Sale By Owner sign from the hardware store. It’s not going to happen with a $50 a week ad in the classified section (go grab a paper right now and take a look).
